Our Time & Responsibility to Act
The issuance of The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Sixth Assessment Report is an urgent call to IFMA members to take action in the built environment, the workplace and all arenas that touch FM. Many sustainability initiatives focus on operational emissions, leaving out the embodied carbon embedded in our facilities, both in the buildings themselves and inside the buildings. The Circular Economy focuses on reducing embodied carbon, which also reduces operational carbon all along the supply chain.
Celeste Tell and Lisa Whited will provide a brief description of embodied and operational carbon, the principles of the Circular Economy and what you can do now to begin bringing circularity into your organization.
